MANCHESTER, Maine – Freshman
Owen Moore (Pittsfield, Maine/Maine Central Institute) had three birdies and carded a 78 (+8) as the top finisher for the University of Southern Maine men's golf team on Tuesday at the Academy Mariners Invitational hosted by Maine Maritime Academy at Augusta Country Club. The Huskies placed fifth in the team standings with a score of 329 (+49).

Husson University won the event with a team score of 293 (+13) and was the only team to break 300 on the day. The team from the University of New England placed second with a 312 (+32) one stroke ahead of Colby College. Husson's Jace Cook shot even par on the day to claim the medalist honor.

On the Course:
- Moore had birdies on holes 12, 15 and 18 and placed 12th overall.
- Freshman Alex Fournier (Augusta, Maine/Cony) tied for 17th with an 80 (+10) after shooting matching 40s on each half of the course. He birdied the ninth hole.
- Freshman Alex Grant (St. Albans, Maine/Nokomis Regional) fired an 85 (+15) to place 28th and ended his round with a birdie on the last hole.
- Freshman Colby Pope (Pembroke, N.H./Pembroke Academy) placed 29th with an 86 (+16) and had a birdie on the sixth hole.
- Freshman Jaden Poirier (White River Junction, Vt./Hartford) tied for 30th with a score of 87 (+17). He recorded birdies on the 11th and 18th holes.
