Huskies Tie for Seventh at UMF Invitational

WATERVILLE, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's golf team tied for seventh at the UMaine Farmington Invitational on Saturday at Waterville Country Club. The team combined to shoot a 340 (+60). Senior Owen Doyle (Gardiner, Maine) placed 15th to lead the Huskies after shooting an 81 (+11).
 
Husson University shot three-over par (283) to win the event. Husson had each of the top four finishers led by co-medalists Will Kavanaugh and Chris Kauppila. Each player shot par (70).
 
On the Course:
  • Sophomore Jackson Horne (Woodsville, N.H.) shot 14-over par with an 84 to tie for 19th.
  • Senior Colin DeWitt (Newington, Conn.) tied for 25th with an 87 (+17)
  • Junior Curan Bassingthwaite (Gorham, Maine) tied for 29th with an 88 (+18)
  • Freshman Carter O'Connell (Monmouth, Maine/Monmouth Academy) placed 41st with a 94 (+24).
 
Up Next:
The Huskies will play another 18 holes at Waterville Country Club tomorrow in the Thomas College Invitational. The event starts at 11:00 am.
