CASCO, Maine – The University of Southern Maine men's golf team placed third out of three teams at Sunday's Monks Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine at Point Sebago Golf Course. The Huskies shot a 336 (+48) led by a 78 (+6) from senior captain
Colin DeWitt (Newington, Conn.). DeWitt placed fourth.
The event was won by Gordon College with a team score of 315 (+27). Gordon's Owen Ingram and Mario Mateo tied for the lowest score at 76 strokes.
On the Course:
- Freshman Colby Pope (Pembroke, N.H./Pembroke Academy) placed seventh with a score of 82 (+10) and had a birdie on the first hole.
- Junior Sam Farr (Gorham, Maine) placed 12th with an 87 (+15). He had a birdie on the 13th hole.
- Freshman Carter O'Connell (Monmouth, Maine/Monmouth Academy) shot an 89 (+17) to place 14th.
