#6 Huskies travel to #3 Bridgewater State for LEC Quarterfinal

GORHAM, Maine – The sixth-seeded University of Southern Maine men's tennis team will travel to Bridgewater State University to take on the third-seeded Bears on Tuesday, May 3 at 3pm in the Little East Conference quarterfinals.

When and Where: Tuesday, May 3 – Bridgewater State University

History: This is the 20th matchup between the two teams. The Huskies currently lead the series 10-9, with Bridgewater State winning the most recent four contests.

The Records: Southern Maine: 2-8, 1-5 LEC ; Bridgewater State: 9-4, 4-2 LEC

Preview: 
The Huskies and Bears met earlier this season in April. In their first matchup, the Bears took down the Huskies 9-0, sweeping the doubles and singles points. The Huskies had a couple of tight matches, as Ethan Rudnicki (Levant, ME/Hermon) and Antoine Gignac (Quebec City, QC/ St. Lawrence) lost just 8-6 at third doubles. In singles play, Gignac and teammate Azam Jiwa (Calgary, AB/ West Island College) dropped close matches and the Huskies will look to them to get points in tomorrow's match. 

The Bears are led by Jeff Pavao, who is 8-5 at first singles and the first doubles team of Darius Desnoes and Kendan Ziegler who are 4-0.
