Southern Maine Falls to Thomas 5-2 on Senior Day

GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's tennis team ended the regular season with a 5-2 loss to the Thomas College Terriers on Thursday evening at Gorham High School. Senior Landon Weaver (Bowdoinham, Maine/ Mt. Ararat) singled up his second singles win of the season with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles. The Huskies also had a singles win by junior Kayde Kinaschuk (Calgary, Alberta) in the No. 5 slot to improve his singles record to 5-4.
 
Prior to the match, the Huskies honored Weaver and Kadin Ilott (Kenora, Ontario) as part of Senior Day.
 
The Huskies have earned the No. 6 seed in the Little East Conference Championship Tournament and will play in the quarterfinals on Tuesday against the No. 3 seed.  The final seeding for the tournament will be determined on Saturday based on the results from around the conference.
