Colby stretched the lead to 6-0 midway through the second quarter on scores by Youngman, McKillop, and senior Spike Smigelski (Mountain Lakes, N.J.).

Kenney gave the Huskies some life with an unassisted goal with 4:35 to play, but Grimaldi scored 57 seconds later to push the lead to 7-1. Deveau tallied with just one second remaining to make it 8-2 at halftime.

Colby took total control in the third quarter, with the only four goals of the period coming in a span of 2:09. Youngman started the run just 35 seconds into the second half and was followed by Deveau and two straight scores from Grossman.

Fairbrother scored just 54 seconds into the fourth quarter to push Colby's lead to 13-1.  Baker scored two straight goals for USM to make it 13-3 with 10:10 to play.  Fairbrother scored again just 30 seconds after Baker's second goal.  White made it 14-4 with 7:56 to play, but Colby scored the final two goals of the game.
