Manhattanville Blanks Southern Maine 3-0

            RYE, N.Y. -- The Manhattanville College Valiants got goal from four different players and junior goalie Emy Cote (Saint-Hubert, Quebec) stopped nine shots as the Valiants shut out the University of Southern Maine Huskies, 4-0, in an ECAC Women's East game Friday night.

            The Valiants, 5-1-2 in their last eight games, improved to 12-8-4 overall and 10-4-3 in the league.  The Huskies, blanked for the third straight game, fall to 6-14-4 overall and 6-9-2 in league play.

            Junior Mary Rose Morrison (Ridgefield, Conn.) gave the home side the lead for good just 2:24 into the game scoring her seventh goal of the season off assists from classmate Jessica Kehoe (Kemptville, Ontario) and senior Hannah Muskego (Lloydminster, Sask.).

            Senior Jackie Solomito (Sea Cliff, N.Y.) double the Valiants' lead with a power-play goal less than three minutes later.

            Junior Erin Sidjak (Delta, B.C.) potted an unassisted goal 22 seconds into the second period to make it 3-0  Junior Katie Little (Victoria, B.C.) tallied her team-leading 12th goal of the season at 15:45 of the second period to account for the final tally.

            Cote earned her third shutout of the season stopping nine shots.  USM freshman goalie Liz Bergstrom (Chanhassen, Minn.) recorded 19 saves.

            Southern Maine closes the regular season on Saturday (4:00 p.m.) with a game against Nichols College in Harrisville, R.I.  Manhattanville concludes the regular campaign hosting Plymouth State University on Saturday (4:00 p.m.).
