Huskies Drop Close Game to No. 12 Endicott 1-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – Teaghan Hall scored 55 seconds into the second period for the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win for the No. 12 Endicott College Gulls over the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's ice hockey team. Huskies' junior goalie Maggie Jones (St. John's, Newfoundland/Mount Academy) made 34 saves in the loss while Endicott's Casey Moritz had a 22-save shutout.

How It Happened:
  • Each goalie made 10 saves in a scoreless first period.
  • Hall's goal came as part of a barrage of shots by the Gulls and broke the 0-0 tie. Jo Wimler and Lilly Corso were credited with assists on the goal. Jones then stopped the next 13 shots that she faced in the period.
  • Jones made another 11 saves, but the Huskies could not find an equalizer.
 
Inside The Stats:
  • Endicott led 35-22 in shots on goal. Sophomore Sophia Capone (Cumberland, R.I./Portsmouth Abbey School) led the Huskies with five shots on goal.
  • The Huskies led in faceoffs wins 24-23 led by seven from graduate student Madison Chagnon (St. Albans, Vt./Rice Memorial).
  • Capone and sophomore Greta Grant (Brownfield,Maine/Fryeburg Academy) each blocked four shots for the Huskies.
