GORHAM, Maine – A third period goal by Adria Tebo led the University of New England Nor'easters to a 2-1 victory over the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's ice hockey team on Friday evening in Gorham's USM Ice Arena. How It Happened:
- Neither team scored in the first period as the Nor'easters led 10-4 in shots on goal. The Huskies killed two penalties in the period
- Chassion redirected a shot by Thompson 7:19 into the second period for a power-play goal to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead. The Nor'easters quickly answered with a Lainie Lemieux goal that was assisted by Keely Kasputis and Amanda Forziat following a scrum in front of the net. Matola then replaced DeJon in net for UNE.
- Tebo broke up a pass in the third period and scored off her rebound to give the Nor'easters a 2-1 lead just under six minutes into the third period. Matola then made five saves the rest of the way and her defense helped her out by blocking several shots and clogging the passing lanes.
