GORHAM, Maine – Seniors 
Audrey Donahue (Timberlea, Nova Scotia/Kimball Union Academy), 
Olivia Stewart (Fredericton, New Brunswick/Mount Academy) and 
Caroline Thompson (Crapaud, Prince Edward Island/Mount Academy) and sophomore 
Makenzie Woodford (Cornwall, Prince Edward Island/ Mount Academy) will serve as team captains for the University of Southern Maine Huskies women's ice hockey team for the 2025-26 season. Thompson also was a team captain last season as a junior.
 
Donahue is in her second season with the Huskies after transferring from Nazareth University. The defenseman made an immediate impact last season by playing in all 26 games and logging five points on two goals and three assists. Three of those points came in a 5-1 win over Plymouth State University in which she scored a goal and had two assists. Donahue also placed second on the team in blocked shots with 29. A Krampade/American Hockey Coaches Association All-American Scholar last season, Donahue is majoring in Health Sciences with a minor in disability studies.
 
Stewart, a forward, has a been a steady source of offense for the Huskies since her freshman season in 2022-23. Her 15 points on five goals and 10 assists last season tied for the most on the team with her assist total leading the team. She also tied for the most points on the team in 2023-24 with 15. Stewart has tallied 16 goals and 27 assists over 76 career games. Her seven game-winning goals in her career are tied for seventh in program history. A two-time New England Hockey Conference All-Academic Team selection and a William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete, Stewart is majoring in Environmental Science with an honors minor.
 
Now in her second season as a team captain, Thompson has played in 75 career games. Her career stats include five goals and 15 assists for a total of 20 points. A defenseman, Thompson was named to the NEHC All-Rookie Team as a freshman in 2022-23. She is majoring in Sociology and is a two-time NECH All-Academic Team member and two-time William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete.
 
Woodford, a forward, tied for third on the team in assists last season. She had multiple assists in wins over New England College and Salem State University. She was the second-best performer at the faceoff dot for the Huskies last season behind Stewart. A Health Sciences major, Woodford was a Krampade/American Hockey Coaches Association All-American Scholar last year.
 
The Huskies will host the University of New England on Friday, October 31 in the team's season-opener. The puck drops at 4:00 pm at the USM Ice Arena. The team will play its first Little East Conference game on Friday, November 7 on the road at New England College.
