GORHAM, Maine – Juniors Alex Grant (St. Albans, Maine/Nokomis Regional), Owen Moore (Pittsfield, Maine/Maine Central Institute) and Jaden Poirier (White River Junction, Vt./Hartford) have been named team captains for the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's golf team for the 2026-27 season.
 
Grant was the team's top performer at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship with a two-round score of 150 (+7) to tie for 88th after the first two rounds. He earned Second Team All-Little East Conference honors by tying for eighth with a 170 (+28) at the conference championship last year. An Information Technology major, Grant earned 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors. He was also named to the Fall 2025 LEC All-Academic Team, and is a William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete.
 
Moore earned First Team All-LEC honors as a freshman in 2024 by placing third at the LEC Championship with a 144 (+2). He tied for 198th at the NCAA Division III Championship with a 162 (+19). He is majoring in Mechanical Engineering, and was also named LEC All-Academic Team last fall. Moore is also a William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete.
 
Poirier, a Management major, was the conference runner-up at the 2024 LEC Championship with a two-round score of 142 (E) to earn First Team All-LEC honors thanks to a record-setting 64 (-7) in the opening round. Last season saw him place 12th at the conference championship and 164th at the NCAA Division III National Championship. Poirier was also a CSC Academic All-District honoree last season.
 
The first event of the season for the Huskies will be the Southern Maine Cup on Saturday at noon at Riverside Golf Course.
