GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's volleyball program has announced that sophomore
Haylie Bidegain (Logan, N.M), senior
Kylee Eubanks-Hemme (Rosamond, Cali.), sophomore
Reese Helisek (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) and senior
Anyelis Hernandez (Lawrence, Mass.) have been named team captains.
Bidegain, a Political Science major, has played 24 career matches for the Huskies. She currently leads the team in blocks with 21 and kills with 67. Eubanks-Hemme has played in 38 matches for the Huskies in her career. Last season saw her post a team-leading 184 kills in addition to ranking fourth in both digs with 148 and total blocks with 21. An Exercise Science major, Eubanks-Hemme earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors last season.
Helisek has played in 42 career match and led the team last season in assists with 584 while finishing second in aces with 46 and third in digs with 216. Her 128 assists and 17 aces this season lead the team. She is double-majoring in Public Health and Health Sciences. Hernandez, a Psychology major, has played in 53 career matches for the Huskies. She currently is second on the team in kills 65 and ranks fourth in digs with 50.
The Huskies will play Colby College on Tuesday on the road at 6:00 pm.
