Reese Helisek (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) recorded a double-double with 18 assists and 11 digs as the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's volleyball team defeated the Thomas College Terriers 3-1 on Saturday. Helisek was one of five Huskies with double-digit digs. Freshman

Anyelis Hernandez (Lawrence, Mass.) placed second with 11. Senior
Amelia Beatty (Rochester, N.H./Spaulding) matched Helisek's total with 11.

Haylie Bidegain (Logan, N.M) recorded a career-high 10 digs in addition to leading the team in kills with nine. She also recorded two aces, a solo block and two block assists for 13 total points. Sophomore
Lizzy Harbester (Plympton, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) ranked second on the team in kills with eight.

Addison Lebel led the Terriers in kills with eight, while Camille Gibson recorded a game-leading 24 digs.

Series History:
Southern Maine leads the all-time series 11-0. The Huskies defeated the Terriers twice last season, first with a 3-0 sweep at home on October 11, and again on October 29 at Thomas in a 3-1 win that saw the team set a new program record for digs in a four-set match with 120.

How It Happened:
- The Huskies pulled away midway in the first set with a 5-0 run to extend their lead to 15-9. The run featured two aces by Helisek. Thomas fought back with a 5-0 run to cut the score to 24-19 before a service error ended the set. Helisek had nine assists in the set.
- Thomas evened the match with a 25-7 win in the second set after starting the set off with five unanswered points.
- The third set saw the lead change six times before the Huskies outscored the Terriers 6-1 to end the set with a 25-21 win. Five of Bidegain's kills came during this set.
- Southern Maine started the fourth set with a 4-0 run and never lost the lead on their way to a 25-18 win to take the match.
