WATERVILLE, Maine – The No. 2 Colby College Mules defeated the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's volleyball team 3-0 on Tuesday evening in Waterville. Brady Moseley led Colby in kills with six and tied for the most digs with 10. Junior Alexis Tortola (Rowland Heights, Cali./Bishop Amat) and freshman Sofia Daoud (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) each had nine digs for the Huskies.
 
Tortola led the Huskies in assists with five. Senior Anyelis Hernandez (Lawrence, Mass.)  and sophomore Caitlyn McGranahan (Seattle, Wash./Lake Stevens) each logged three kills for Southern Maine.

No. 2 Colby: 9-0
 
Series History:
Colby leads the all-time series 21-4. Tonight's match was the first between the Huskies and Mules since October 7, 2023.
 
How It Happened:

• Colby won the opening set 25-7 behind nine kills and four aces.
• The Mules extended their lead to two sets to none with a 25-6 win in the second set.
• Colby completed the sweep with a 25-16 win in the third set. Seven of Southern Maine's 12 kill came in this set with Hernandez, McGranahan and sophomore Scarlett Squires (Mount Desert, Maine/Mount Desert Island) each recording two.

 
Inside The Stats:

• The Mules led 15-1 in aces led by six by Gabby Grujic.
• Colby also led 34-12 in kills and 3-1 in blocks.

 
Up Next:
The Huskies will travel to Mount Holyoke College on Saturday for a tri-match. The team will face the hosts at 1:00 pm before taking on Worcester State at 3:00 pm.
