GORHAM, Maine – Sixty-seven University of Southern Maine student-athletes were announced as part of the 2026 Little East Conference All-Academic Team for spring sports. Students from all seven of Southern Maine's Little East Conference sponsored teams have representatives on the academic squad: baseball, softball, men's tennis, women's and men's outdoor track & field, and women's and men's lacrosse.

To be named to the LEC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least in sophomore standing in the classroom, have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester, and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year prior to the start of the competitive season.

Among the nine Little East Conference institutions, Southern Maine tied for fourth for the most student-athletes to achieve the academic distinction while competing in all seven of the LEC spring championship sports.

The Huskies' 2026 Little East Conference Champion Women's Outdoor Track & Field team had 17 student-athletes represented on the list to lead the way in total student-athletes named. The women's track & field program won its 25th outdoor title this past spring. The men's program had 12 student-athletes named to the All-Academic Team and placed third at the LEC Outdoor Championships.

The Southern Maine baseball program, who won the 2026 Little East Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships, placed six student-athletes on the All-Academic Team. The Huskies lead all of Division III in scoring with 11.4 runs per game and won a pair of games at the NCAA Division III Regional Championships. Huskies' softball placed second among the Southern Maine teams with 15 representatives.

Huskies' women's lacrosse reached the LEC Championship Game for the first time since 2019 after winning a program-record 14 games and had 10 players qualify for the All-Academic Team. The men's program had four student-athletes earn All-Academic honors, the program's most since 2021.

The Huskies' men's tennis team rounded out the list with a trio of All-Academic student-athletes. The Huskies made their second consecutive LEC Tournament appearance this spring.

Thirty-one different University of Southern Maine majors are represented by the Huskies' Spring Sport All-Academic Team roster with Nursing (9) and Exercise Science (6) leading the way. Other popular majors include Health Sciences, Biology and Marketing.

Twenty-five of the 67 members of the Little East Conference Spring Sport All-Academic team were also recognized with post-season honors from the LEC after their respective competition season. Among the program highlights are senior All-Americans
Kyle Douin (Augusta, Maine/Cony) and
Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy). Douin, the LEC Player of the Year in baseball, earned D3baseball.com First Team All-American and ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III Second Team All-American honors in addition to being named the ABCA Region II and D3Baseball.com Region II Player of the Year. He also recently earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) First Team Academic All-American status. Reitchel earned First Team All-America honors in the javelin for the second time in her career after placing sixth at the 2026 NCAA Division National Championships. She also won the LEC title in javelin and placed second in the pole vault while earning U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors in the javelin.

Juniors
Peter Keblinsky (Ellsworth, Maine) and
Mike Anquillare (North Haven, Conn.) also earned both All-LEC and All-Region honors on the baseball diamond. Keblinsky earned second team all-region honors from D3Baseball.com and the ABCA, while Anquillare earned third team honors from the ABCA. Both players were named Second Team All-LEC.

Graduate student
Katelyn D'Appolonia (Yarmouth, Maine), the 2026 LEC Midfielder of the Year, was named Second Team All-Pilgrim Region by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for the second consecutive season after setting a new program record for assists with 35 and tying the record for points in a season with 94. Cierra Hill (Pembroke, N.H./Pembroke Academy) and
Britney Hill (Pembroke, N.H./Pembroke Academy) joined D'Appolonia as First Team All-LEC selections.

Seniors
Jaigan Boudreau (Dayton, Maine/Thornton Academy) and
Alexis Karantza (Westbrook, Maine) also won individual LEC titles this spring with Boudreau placing first in the shot put and discus and Karantza winning the 400-meter hurdles. Each athlete was also named USTFCCCA All-Region. On the men's side senior
Michael D'Amico (Belgrade Lakes, Maine) earned All-Region honors in the decathlon and placed first in the pole vault at the LEC Championships.

Senior
Olivia Levasseur (Amesbury, Mass.) and sophomore
Aislin Davis (Tewksbury, Mass.) each earned a spot on the 2026 All-Little East Conference Second Team for softball. Davis hit .471 and recorded a .495 on-base percentage to lead the Huskies in both statistics. Levasseur batted .330 with a career-best 24 RBI for the Huskies this season.
