GORHAM, Maine – Senior
Kyle Douin (Augusta, Maine/Cony) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' baseball team has been named the Little East Conference Player of the Week. The fourth Husky to earn weekly honors from the Little East this season, Douin is earning his first LEC recognition of 2026.
Douin helped the Huskies' potent offense hitting .421 in a 3-1 week that included a pair of Little East Conference wins. Going 8-for-19 at the plate including a double, three triples and a home run for nine RBI. Finishing the week with a .947 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage, Douin drew a pair of walks and scored six runs.
In a 21-3 (7 inning) win over Plymouth State, Douin had three RBI to help USM to its first conference win of the week. On the road at Keene State, Douin drove in five runs on a 5-for-6 effort at the plate, including a double and a home run in a 19-6 (8 inning) win over the Owls. In a mid-week non-conference game, Douin was 2-for-5 with an RBI, two triples and two runs scored.
Douin is hitting .400 (34-for-85) on the season in 20 games played. He has 30 RBI and 34 runs scored to go with five doubles, four triples and six home runs for a.765 slugging percentage and a .528 on-base percentage.
Southern Maine (17-5, 8-1 Little East) hosts Bates College this evening (4:30 pm), and then takes on Little East opponent UMass Boston on Tuesday (2:00 pm), and then Endicott College on Wednesday (3:30 pm).
