GORHAM, Maine – Senior
Maddox Cahill (Sunapee, N.H.) and freshman
Ryker Paradis (Lewiston, Maine) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's track & field team have earned weekly awards from the Little East Conference following impressive performances at the Emory Thrills in the Hills Invitational. Cahill was chosen as the LEC Track Athlete of the Week, while Paradis was named the LEC Field Rookie of the Week.

Cahill placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.08 seconds. His time ranks eighth nationally so far this season and second in the East region. Cahill also ran on a 4x100 relay team that placed seventh with a time of 54.08 seconds.

Paradis shattered the program record for the outdoor shot put with a toss of 16.75m in his first outdoor meet as a Husky. Four of his six throws at the event surpassed the previous record of 15.78m set by
William Carrolton during the 2025 season. Paradis also placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 44.33m to move into third on the program leaderboard. His shot put mark is tied for sixth nationally and leads the East region, and his mark in the discus ranks fourth in the region.

The next meet for the Huskies will be the Jim Boulanger Invitational hosted by the University of New Hampshire on Saturday, April 4. The first events start at 11:00 am.
