GENEVA, Ohio – Graduate student
Ethan Shain (Sanford, Maine) earned the first All-American honor of his outdoor track & field career on Friday afternoon by placing 10th in the 100-meter dash at 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships to Second Team All-American honors. He placed fourth in his heat with a time of 10.61 seconds, the eight-fastest time in program history. Shain, who entered the event as the 14th seed, missed out on the last spot in the tomorrow's final by 0.01 seconds. A two-time All-American in the 60-meter dash, this was his first time competing at the outdoor National Championship meet.

He is the first Husky to earn All-American honors in the 100-meter dash and the fifth track athlete to earn the honor in an outdoor event. Previous All-American runners for the Huskies include Trey Gadbois in the 110-meter hurdles in 2004, Â
Mike Bunker in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 2005, Jeremy Collins in 400-meter hurdles in 2016, and Zach Hoyle in the 800 meters in 2019. First Team All-America status is awarded to finishers 1-8 (individual events and relays) in each event at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships and Second Team All-America status is awarded to finishers 9-16 (individual events) and 9-12 (relays). Second Team All-America recognition began in the 2023-24 academic year.

Ben Drummey (Biddeford, Maine) will compete in the pole vault tomorrow at 12:00 pm to wrap up the National Championship meet action for the Huskies.
