WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.  -  Competing at the 2026 Williams College Open Invitational, the University of Southern Maine Huskies' wrestling team had several strong individual performances after nearly a month-off of competition.  The Williams College Open invitational was a non-scoring event.
 
Senior Jake Craig (Norridgewock, Maine/Skowhegan), nationally-ranked in his weight class, Craig opened the tourney with a 3:40 win by fall over Emmanuel's Talan Walton, and then had a 7-2 win over Springfield's Alex Olberc. Freshman Nate Wolyniec (Oxford, Conn./Oxford) posted three wins, competing at 165 lbs, including a 12-4 major decision over Springfield Tech's Sean McCall, and a 5:31 win by fall over Cortland's Gavin Seller.
 
Sophomore Jon Lettre (Augusta, Maine/Cony) also had a strong day of competition at 285 lbs. Earning three wins by fall, Lettre went 3-1 at the tourney, highlighted by a 35-second pin over Brady Callahan of Cortland.
 
Southern Maine is back in action next weekend at the Manganaro Duals on Saturday, January 10 hosted by Ursinus College. The Huskies return to dual-meet action on Saturday, January 17 (11:00 am) at Vermont State University Castleton for a quad meet with Plymouth State and Rhode Island College.
