BALTIC, Conn. – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's golf team ended the first day of the Eastern Connecticut State University Warrior Invitational in first place with a team score of 287 (+7). Sophomore
Jaden Poirier (White River Junction, Vt./Hartford) is currently tied for second on the individual leaderboard with a 70 (E). The event is being held at Mohegan Sun Golf Club in Baltic, Conn.

The Huskies have a seven-stroke lead over Albertus Magnus College while Nichols College (296, +16) sits in third to complete the top half of the six-team field. Poirier trails Cam Desante from Nichols by three strokes leading into tomorrow's round.

- Sophomores Alex Grant (St. Albans, Maine/Nokomis Regional) and Owen Moore (Pittsfield, Maine/Maine Central Institute) are tied for fifth. Each player shot a 72 (+2).
- Junior Finn Sharpe (Durham, Maine/Freeport) is tied for seventh with a 73 (+3).
- Sophomore Alex Fournier (Augusta, Maine/Cony) is tied for 19th with a 79 (+9).
