BANGOR, Maine – Led by event medalist
Alex Grant (St. Albans, Maine/Nokomis Regional), the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's golf team took first place at Saturday's Husson Invitational at Bangor Municipal Golf Course. Grant shot four-under par 67 with six birdies and an eagle to win the event and was three-under par through the first nine holes. The Huskies carded a 295 (+11) as a team to win the title of Husson University, who placed second with a 300 (+16).

Junior
Finn Sharpe (Durham, Maine/Freeport) also finished in the top 10 by tying for ninth with a 75 (+4). The Southern Maine B team placed sixth with a 314 (+30).

On the Course:
- Sophomore Alex Fournier (Augusta, Maine/Cony) and freshman Keenan Buteau (Scarborough, Maine) tied for 13th. Each player shot a 76 (+5). Buteau had an eagle on the 15th hole.
- Freshman Ben Aucoin (Moncton, New Brunswick) and sophomore Jaden Poirier (White River Junction, Vt./Hartford) each shot a 77 (+6) to tie for 16th. Poirier had three birdies and Aucoin had two.
- Sophomore Owen Moore (Pittsfield, Maine/Maine Central Institute) tied for 22nd with a 79 (+8) that featured five birdies.
- Junior Quinn Dillon (Gorham, Maine) tied for 25th with an 80 (+9). He had two birdies.
- Senior captain Sam Farr (Gorham, Maine) tied for 29th with an 81 (+10) and had a birdie on the 13th hole.
