GORHAM, Maine – Five members of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's cross country and track & field program have earned 2024-2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors. Earning the academic distinction were graduate student
Olivia Jalbert (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little), seniors
Jaigan Boudreau (Dayton, Maine/Thornton Academy) and
Heaven Conley (Ogunquit, Maine/Wells), and juniors
Alexis Karantza (Westbrook, Maine) and
Riley Reitchel (Palermo, Maine/Erskine Academy). Each student-athlete also earned the honor for the 2023-24 academic year as well.
Â
To be eligible for Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically with a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. They must also have a rank in the Top 50 in their region in a single event (XC, indoor or outdoor). Selected by College Sports Communicators, the Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Reitchel will now advance to the Academic All-American ballot.
