2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships: Carrolton Places Ninth in Discus to Earn Second Team All-American Honors

GENEVA, Ohio – Graduate student William Carrolton (Bath, Maine/Morse) finished ninth in the discus with a throw of 47.49m at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday to earn Second Team All-American honors. Carrolton is the first member of the University of Southern Huskies' men's track & field program to earn All-American status in a throwing event.

Carrolton sat in 16th place after his first two throws and ended the first round of the event with a clutch throw of 47.49m to jump into ninth place and advance to the finals. His second throw of the finals matched his earlier mark, and he finished just shy of earning a podium spot. This is the first All-American honor of Carrolton's career.

The National Championship action for the Huskies continues tomorrow at 3:30 pm when graduate student Ethan Shain (Sanford, Maine) competes in the first round of the 100-meter dash. Fifth-year senior Ben Drummey (Biddeford, Maine) will compete in the pole vault on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
