AMHERST, Mass. – Graduate student
William Carrolton (Bath, Maine/Morse) won the discus title at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships at UMass Amherst on Saturday with a program record throw of 53.29m. Carrolton had four throws on the day that beat the previous record of 50.93m. The University of Southern Maine tied for 13th in the team standings with 19 points.

Maddox Cahill (Sunapee, N.H.) in the 400-meter hurdles, senior
Treshaun Brown (Kittery, Maine) in the triple jump, and the 4x800 relay team of freshman
Preston Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester), sophomore
Aidan Pecoraro (Westbrook, Maine), fifth-year senior
Jack Pecoraro (Westbrook, Maine) and sophomore
Cyrus Evans (Farmington, Maine/Mt. Blue). Cahill placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.90 seconds. He now ranks second in school history in the event behind Jeremy Collins. Brown jumped 13.68m to place seventh and move into sixth in program history. The 4x800 group's time of 7:58.39 is the third fastest in program history and they finished seventh at today's event.

Freshman
Marcus Tillery (Windham, Maine) ran a personal best time of 10.87 seconds to place 25th. He is now tied for third on the program leaderboard. He also placed 21st in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.36 seconds.

Albert Matrille (North Waterboro, Maine/Alvirne), Evans and Cahill placed 10th with a time of 3:34.32. Senior
Jordan Duplessie (Caribou, Maine) and junior
Michael Cyr (Caribou, Maine) also ran for the Huskies. Duplessie placed 25th in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:41.75 while Cyr ran a personal best in the 3000-meter steeplechase to place 29th and now ranks 10th in program history in the event.

Senior
Jacob Jackson (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) placed ninth in triple jump with an outdoor best mark of 13.45m and tied for 11th in the high jump with a mark of 1.91m. He now ranks eighth in program history for the triple jump.

The Huskies will be sending select athletes back to UMass next week for the UMass Last Chance Meet on Thursday, May 15.
