2025 NCAA Division III National Championship : Frost and Craig Finish Sixth in Nation

PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island. – After securing their status as NCAA Division III All-American, both
junior Jake Craig (Norridgewock, Maine) and senior Colby Frost (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) put in strong day two performances to finish sixth overall nationally at the 2025 NCAA Division II Wrestlign National Championship hosted at the Amica Mutual Pavillion in Providence, R.I.
 
Just two of three Husky wrestlers in program history to earn the distinction of NCAA All-American in program history, Frost (2024, 2025) and Craig (2023, 2025) placed fifth at 149 lbs and 125 lbs respectively. 
 
Colby Frost (149) – Recap
Frost locked up his All-American status with a well-won 7-2 win by decision against Washington and Lee's Evan Lindner using a dominant third period surge.  On day two of the tournament, Frost faced a familiar opponent in RIT's Mike Glynn. Both Glynn (8th place) and Frost (6th place) are returning 2024 All-Americans. Frost faced Glynn  last season at the 2024 national championship in the consolation bracket. Frost battled Glynn to a sudden victory win, 7-4. 
 
Frost was again victorious over Glynn, battling to a 6-5 decision. After a scoreless first, Frost went ahead 3-2 over Glynn scoring a takedown to Glynn's two escape points. Glynn scored first in the third with a take down to lead 5-3 with 48 seconds remaining, but Frost battled back with a reversal, and earned point with riding time for the 6-5 final.
 
In the consolation semifinal, Frost faced off against Augsburg's Matt Randolph.  Randolph, the fourth seed in the bracket, scored a reversal with 15 seconds left in the match to earn a 2-1 win.  In the fifth place match, Frost fell to McDaniel's Thomas Monn to finish sixth overall.
 
Frost concludes his career as a two-time All-American, three-time NCAA National Championship Qualifier, and four-time All-Region wrestler.  He had a remarkable  2024-25 season record of 38-4.
 
 
Jake Craig (125) – Recap
Becoming a two-time All-American with a 4-1 win over Jalen Dunson from Wisconsin-Whitewater in an elimination match on Friday, Craig took on Benyamin Kamali of Olivet in his second day of action earning a dominant 11-2 major decision to earn a spot in the consolation semifinals. Leading 6-2 with a pair of takedowns over the first and second periods, Craig overpowered Kamali with five points in the third for the 11-2 final.
 
In the consolation semifinals,  Craig dropped a major decision bout, 14-2, to Averett's Mason Barrett. Barrett is a returning 2024 All-American.  In the fifth place match, Craig dropped a decision to Coe's Brayden Parke 4-0 to finish sixth.  Craig and Parke faced each other earlier in the tourney with Craig coming away with a 9-6 decision.
 
Craig concludes his outstanding junior season earning the second All-American citation of his career. A three-time NCAA qualifier and three-time All-Region wrestler, Craig had an outstanding record of 28-8 this season
 
Husky Notes:
Frost (2024, 2025) and Craig (2023, 2025) are two of just three Husky wrestlers to earn the distinction of NCAA All-American more than once in their career joining current Southern Maine head coach Mike Morin '10, who earned the honor in 2009 and 2010 during his time as a Husky student-athlete. Including Morin, Frost and Craig, the Huskies boast eight all-time individual All-Americans. Husky standout Pete Del Gallo earned NCAA All-American honors in 2019 (third place) and was awarded NWCA All-American honors in 2020 after the tourney was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
