GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies wrestling team is prepped and ready to go for one of its most consequential tournament of the season: the 2025 NCAA Division III Northeast Regional Championship. Ready to go, the Huskies are on their way to Middletown, Connecticut and the Bacon Field House on the campus of Wesleyan University for the two-day tournament March 1-2.
The 2025 NCAA Northeast Regional Championship will feature ~200 wrestlers from 18 NCAA Division III programs vying for the NCAA Regional Championship team title, and individual berths into the 2025 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament held March 14-15 in Providence, Rhode Island at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. Individually, the top three finishers in each of the 10 weight classes will earn a spot in the National Championship.
Five teams ranked in the National Wrestling Coaches' Association (NWCA) poll will be participating in the upcoming regional championship, including No. 2 Johnson & Wales University, No. 9 VTSU-Castleton, No. 11 United States Coast Guard Academy, No. 18 Southern Maine, and No. 25 Williams College.
Seven 2024 NCAA Division III All-American return to the fray this tournament, including the Huskies' own, senior
Colby Frost (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle). Qualifying for the NCAA Championship for the second time in his career in 2024, Frost finished sixth nationally at 149 lbs. Currently the top-ranked wrestler in his weight class in NCAA Division III, Frost is 31-0 headed into the regional championship, and is one of three Huskies ranked in-region. He is also ranked no. 1 in the New England region.
2023 NCAA Division III All-American, junior
Jake Craig (Norridgewock, Maine/Skowhegan) will be looking to punch his third ticket to the national championship. The first freshman to qualify for the NCAA national championship in program history, Craig finished fourth nationally at 125. Qualifying in 2024, Craig had to bow out of the championship with a tournament last season. Competing at 133 lbs this season, Craig is currently ranked 12
th nationally, and third in-region, with a record of 22-4.
Sophomore
Kyle Moore (Kennebunk, Maine/Division Avenue (NY)) enters the regional championship ranked fifth in New England at 141 lbs. Coming off of a strong freshman campaign, Moore has had a standout second season with a record of 24-10, including six wins by fall, and six wins by technical fall.
Action begins on Saturday, March 1. Doors open to spectators at 10:00 am with preliminary round matches starting at 11 am and will conclude with the consolation second and third rounds, wrapping up at approximately 8:30 pm. Sunday's championship semifinals and consolation quarterfinals will start at 10:00 am and continue through the championship and third/fourth place matches beginning at approximately 4:30 pm. Following the championship events, will be an awards ceremony.

Admission
The admission price for the tournament will be single day tickets - $10 for adults, $5 for students/seniors, and children 6 and under are free. All spectators and those not receiving credentials are required to purchase a ticket. There are no online tickets available. Day of, in-person sales only.

Ticket table will be located in front of the viewing area for the Webster Family Natatorium. No weekend passes available. Spectators must purchase tickets each day.
