GORHAM, Maine – Senior Conor Donovan (Nahant, Mass./Swampscott) and freshman Ean Badgett (Howell, Mich.) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's ice hockey team each earned weekly honors from the Little East Conference. Donovan was chosen as the conference Player of the Week. Badgett was named the LEC Rookie of the Week.
 
Donovan had a goal and an assist in the 2-1 win over Salem State on the road on Thursday night for the first multiple-point game of his career. He scored a power play goal in the final seconds of the second period to put the Huskies ahead 1-0 and added an assist in the third period on a goal by freshman Ben Aucoin (Moncton, New Brunswick). This is his first weekly award.
 
Badgett made 26 saves in the win over Salem State to earn the first win of his career. He made 11 of those saves in the second period. He is the third Husky to earn the LEC Rookie of the Week awards this season, joining Aucoin and fellow goaltender Loic Morin (Drummondville, Quebec).
 
The Huskies are off until January when they will play in the inaugural Lobster Pot tournament on January 2-3 at Falmouth Family Ice Center. The Huskies will face Bowdoin College in the first game on Friday, January 2 at 7:00 pm and they will face either Colby College or the University of New England the next day in either the championship game or the consolation game.
