FALMOUTH, Maine – Colby Browne scored with 3:11 left in the third period to lead the Colby College Mules to a 4-3 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies on Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the inaugural Lobster Pot Men's Hockey Tournament at Falmouth's Family Ice Center. The Huskies overcame a 3-1 deficit to tie the game in the third period before Brown's goal gave the Mules the lead for good. Junior
Kayde Kinaschuk (Calgary, Alberta) and sophomore
Owen Arend (Palmetto, Fla./Kents Hill School) each contributed on both third period goals. Kinaschuk scored the first of the period for the Huskies and assisted on a power play goal by junior
Ethan MacDuff (Lloydminster, Alberta). Arend had assists on both scores.

Ben Aucoin (Moncton, New Brunswick), his 11th of the season.

How It Happened:
- Colby took a 1-0 lead 5:04 into the game on the first of Macdonald's two goals in the contest. Jayden Grier and Ben Morgan picked up the assists on the score. Each goalie made 10 saves in the period and Colby's defense blocked six shots.
- Reese Farrell added a second goal for the Mules 7:31 into the second period to push the lead to 2-0 before the Huskies got on the board with a goal by Aucoin with just over five minutes to go in the period. Aucoin's goal came off a faceoff win by senior Conor Donovan (Nahant, Mass./Swampscott) with senior John Hagan (Canton, Mass./Tilton School) also recording an assist. The Huskies pressured Costley while on the power play in the final two minutes of the period, but the Mules held on to take a 2-1 lead into the final intermission.
- Macdonald's second goal of the game extended Colby's lead to 3-1 before Kinaschuk cut the lead to 3-2 just 24 seconds later. Junior Ethan Hoover (Hershey, Penn.) set up Kinaschuk with a pass from the corner after a shot on goal by Arend.
- Southern Maine tied the game when MacDuff tipped in a shot by Kinaschuk 12 seconds into a power play with 9:37 left in regulation.
- The Mules took the lead for good on the goal by Browne and then had another goal waved off by the officials in the final minutes.
