GORHAM, Maine – Seven members of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's ice hockey team have been named have been recognized by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) as Krampade All-American Scholars for the 2024-25 season. Huskies to earn the honors include freshman
Josie Arrants (Rock Springs, Wy./Lovell Academy), junior
Audrey Donahue (Timberlea, Nova Scotia/Kimball Union Academy), senior
Ellie Fredenburg (Cambridge, Mass./Cambridge Rindge and Latin), senior
Jillian Jackson (Fredericton, New Brunswick/Ontario Hockey Academy), fifth-year senior
Haley McKim (Moncton, New Brunswick/Mount Academy), senior
Amelie St-Amant (Cornwall, Ontario), and freshman
Makenzie Woodford (Cornwall, Prince Edward Island/ Mount Academy).
To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester and had to appear in 40% of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders.
Arrants, a defenseman, played in 24 games in her rookie season. She tallied her first career point with an assist in a 5-0 win against Albertus Magnus College. Arrants also blocked 16 shots. She is majoring in Nursing.
Donahue, a defenseman majoring in Health Sciences, joined the Huskies after spending the first two years of her career at Nazareth University. She tallied five points on two goals and three assists while playing in all 26 games. Three of her points came in a 5-1 win against Plymouth State University in which she scored once and assisted on two goals. Her 29 blocked shots ranked second on the team.
Fredenburg posted a 3-0 record in goal for the Huskies with a .920 save percentage and a 1.34 goals against average. She recorded her third career shutout with a 15-save performance in a 5-0 win over Albertus Magnus. She finished her career with a record of 8-4 with a .905 save percentage. Her academic accolades include three-time William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete awards, three New England Hockey Conference All-Academic Team citations, and now three All-American Scholar awards. She recently completed her degree in Biochemistry.
Jackson played in nine games before an injury ended her season. She tallied two goals and an assist in that span. One of those goals, her first as a Husky, was the game-winner in overtime in a win against William Smith College. Jackson was one of the top performers for the Huskies at the faceoff dot with a .575 winning percentage (69-for-120). She joined the Huskies ahead of the 2024-25 season after spending three years at Norwich University. She earned NEHC All-Academic Team honors twice at Norwich and was also named an All-American Scholar in 2023-24. Jackson is double majoring in
Criminology and Psychology.
McKim earned All-NEHC honors for the fourth time in her career with a Second Team nod this past season. She finished the year with eight wins, a .944 save percentage and a 1.85 goals against average. McKim ended her career as program leader in nearly every goaltending statistic in addition to ranking sixth in NCAA Division III history in saves with 3,103 saves. This is her second time being named to the All-American Scholar list and she also has earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors twice plus four NEHC All-Academic Team placements and four William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete awards. McKim graduated with a degree in Health Sciences.
St-Amant also earned Academic All-District honors for the 2024-25 academic year. She has served as one of the most consistent defensemen for the Huskies and was in the lineup for every game over her final three seasons. The 2024-25 campaign saw her record seven assists and block a team-leading 60 shots. She finished her career with 24 points (six goals and 18 assists). This is her third time being named an All-American Scholar and she is also a three-time NEHC All-Academic Team selection and three-time William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete. St-Amant double majored in Health Sciences and Exercise Science.
Woodford, a forward, played in 23 games and recorded six assists while also blocking 13 shots. She assisted on two goals in a 3-2 win against New England College for the first points of her career and also had two assists in a 4-2 win against Salem State University. The Health Sciences major started her career with a streak of 21 games without a trip to the penalty box before a holding call in the second period of the last game of the regular season ended the streak.
