GORHAM, Maine – Senior
Jaigan Boudreau (Dayton, Maine/Thornton Academy) and freshman
Maddie Niles (Benton, Maine/Lawrence) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' field hockey team have each earned Little East Conference weekly honors. Boudreau is earning LEC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth time in 2025, while Niles is earning her third LEC Rookie of the Week accolade.
Currently ranked first in NCAA Division III in Defensive Saves with 13, Boudreau had a pair of defensive saves in the Huskies' 2-0 win on the road at VTSU-Castleton in Little East Conference action. Boudreau also scored the Huskies' game-winning goal over the Spartans converting a penalty stroke in the 43
rd minute to break a scoreless deadlock.
With five goals and two assist for 12 points through 16 career games as a Husky, Niles scored her fifth goal of the season to give USM a 2-0 lead in the 57
th minute in the Huskies' win over the Spartans. Niles' goal against the Spartans is the second against LEC opponents for the rookie forward this season.
Southern Maine hosts New England College on Tuesday (7:00 pm) at Hannaford Field in a non-conference match up. The Huskies remain at home for a Little East Conference tilt against WestConn on Saturday (12:00 pm).
