GORHAM, Maine    –  Freshman Mackenzie Hall (Westbrook, Maine) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' field hockey team has been named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week. Earning a weekly citation from the conference for the first time in her career, Hall joins classmate Maddie Niles (Benton, Maine/Lawrence) with rookie of the week honors.
 
A forward for the Huskies, Hall totaled three goals in a 2-1 week for the Huskies. She scored two goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-1 conference victory at UMass Dartmouth Saturday, and found the back of the cage again in a 5-2 non-conference setback at Colby Sunday. Earning a starting role for Southern Maine early in 2025, Hall has played in all 14 of the Huskies' contests with 11 starts. She has four goals this season, including a pair of game-winners.
 
Southern Maine hosts Thomas College on Wednesday, October 15 (7:00 pm) in its next contest. The Huskies are then on the road at VTSU-Castleton on Saturday, October 18 (5:00 pm) in Little East Conference action before hosting New England College on Tuesday, October 21 (7:00 pm) in a non-conference match-up
