Colbert, Fredenburg, St-Amant and Young Named AHCA/Krampade All-American Scholars

GORHAM, Maine – Graduate student Jordan Colbert (Manomet, Mass./ Plymouth South), junior Ellie Fredenburg (Cambridge, Mass./ Cambridge Rindge and Latin), junior Amelie St-Amant (Cornwall, Ontario), and fifth-year senior Maddy Young (Westford, Vt.) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies women's ice hockey team have been recognized by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) as Krampade All-American Scholars for the 2023-24 season. Colbert and Young have now earned the honor three times in their careers. Fredenburg and Young are now two-time honorees.
 
To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester, and had to appear in 40% of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goaltenders.
 
Colbert, a graduate student pursuing a Master's degree in Teacher Leadership, played in all 28 games for the Huskies in 2023-24 and recorded two goals and two assists. A three-year team captain, Colbert finished her career as the program all-time leader in games played by a defenseman with 108 and 25 career points from six goals and 19 assists.
 
Young recorded a team-leading 11 assists last season and scored a goal. She had multiple assists in wins against the University of New England and Plymouth State University. A co-recipient of the Athletic Department's Roland Wirths Memorial Award, Young finished her career with 10 goals and 26 assists over 108 career games. An Environmental Science major, she served as a team captain in 2022-23 and 2023-24.
 
Fredenburg, a Biochemistry major, started five games in goal for the Huskies and went 3-2. She finished the season with 2.80 goals against average and a save percentage of .901. Fredenburg had a 20-save shutout in a 2-0 win against Curry. She has played in 12 career games and holds a 5-4 record with two shutouts and a .902 save percentage.
 
St-Amant led the Huskies in blocked shots with 40 while playing in all 28 games. The defenseman scored two goals and had three assists to finish the season with five points. A Health Sciences major, St-Amant has six goals and 11 assists over 77 career games.
 
Each student-athlete also earned NEHC All-Academic Team honors for the 2023-24 season.
