CASCO, Maine – The University of Southern Maine golf program placed sixth at the 2023 John Queenan Memorial Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph's College at the par-72 Point Sebago Golf Course in Casco, Maine on Wednesday. The Huskies had a team score of 327 (+39) at the event.

Gordon College took first place with a team score of 314 (+26) while Husson University and the University of New England each had a team score of 322 (+34) to tie for second. The medalist of the event was Dylan Cunningham from Thomas College with a score of 72 (even).

Zach Ellsworth (Saranac Lake, N.Y./Northwood School) fired a 75 (+3) to tie for third place. Sophomore
Finnegan Sharpe (Durham, Maine/Freeport) tied for fifth place after carding 76 (+4). Junior
Owen Doyle (Gardiner, Maine) and freshman
Jackson Horne (Woodsville, N.H.) each shot an 88 (+16) to tie for 31st. Senior
Jett Healy (Stratham, N.H./Exeter) recorded a score of 90 (+18) to place 37th.

The Huskies will host the annual USM Cup on Saturday at Riverside Golf Course. The event features a unique setup in which the 18 holes are split up into six holes of best ball, six holes of scramble, and six holes of alternate shot.
