MANCHESTER, Maine – The University of Southern Maine golf team placed fourth in a nine-team field on Thursday at the Mariner Invitational hosted by Maine Maritime Academy at Augusta Country Club in Manchester, Maine. The Huskies (322, +43) finished behind Husson University (284, +4), Colby College (314, +34) and the University of New England (318, +38). Husson golfers occupied five of the top six spots on the leaderboard led by medalist Chris Kauppila at even-par (70).

Sophomore
Finnegan Sharpe (Durham, Maine/Freeport) had the lowest round of the day for the Huskies at 78 (+8). Sharpe tied for 13th overall in a 45-man field after shooting a 38 on the front nine and a 40 on the back half. Sophomore
Sam Farr (Gorham, Maine) carded an 80 (+10) with matching 40s on the front and back nine.

Owen Doyle (Gardiner, Maine) and freshman
Jackson Horne (Woodsville, N.H.) finished in a five-way tie for 18th at 82 (+12). Senior
Jett Healy (Stratham, N.H./Exeter) finished two strokes behind them at 84 (+14) and tied for 23rd.

The Huskies will host the USM Fall Invitational on Sunday at Spring Meadows Golf Club in Gray, Maine. The first group will tee off at noon.
