GORHAM, Maine – Former University of Southern Maine standout Tucker White '13 has been chosen for induction into the Little East Conference Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2023. A member of the baseball team from 2010-2013, White third alumnus of the Huskies' baseball team to be inducted into the Little East Conference Hall of Fame. White is joined by Mike McCullum '99 (Class of 2020) and Tyler Delorme '04 (Class of 2021) in the LEC Hall of Fame.
The LEC is inducting 11 individuals and one team as part of its 2023 Hall of Fame class. Members are nominated by their alma maters and voted upon by the league's nine Athletic Directors, and includes individuals representing each Little East institution. White is joined by former USM women's indoor and outdoor track & field standout Emily Artesani Walton '10 for this year's induction. Additionally, the Huskies' 1987-88 women's basketball team will be inducted. The Southern Maine Department of Athletics will honor White with an event on campus to be announced at a later date.
Inducted into the Husky Hall of Fame in 2020, White was the first student-athlete from the Huskies' storied baseball program to receive the American Baseball Coaches Association's (ABCA) Division III National Player of the Year honor, earning the distinction in 2013. A five-tool player, White completed his career among the most highly decorated student-athletes at the University of Southern Maine.
As a junior in the 2012 season, White made himself among the best in the nation earning second team All-American honors from the ABCA and D3baseball.com as a designated hitter. During that 2012 season, White hit .392 collected 73 hits in 186 at bats, including 10 doubles, 10 triples and seven home runs and drove in 49 runs. White's 10 triples led the NCAA Division III statistical category in that season. In addition to his status as an All-American, White was named to the ECAC Division III, New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA), and D3baseball.com All-New England Region first team, and was selected to the LEC's all-conference first team as a designated hitter.
In 2013, White took his play to another level, leading the Huskies to the 2013 LEC Championship, NCAA Division III New England Championship, and a second-place finish at the 2013 NCAA Division III World Series. Named the 2013 ABCA/Rawlings Division III Player of the Year, White also earned first team All-American honors from the ABCA. D3baseball.com also recognized White as the nation's top Division III player, and named him to their first team squad. White also topped ECAC Division III New England, NEIBA, D3baseball.com, National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) Regional Player of the Team lists. During the 2013 season, White hit a remarkable .400 with 86 hits, including 14 doubles, nine triples and 10 home runs while driving in 59 runs. With a .688 slugging percentage, nearly 40 percent of White's hits went for extra bases.
White finished his career with a .359 batting average (251 hits in 700 at bats) with 171 RBIs, 43 doubles, 27 triples and 22 home runs. He completed his degree in Exercise Science (Health Fitness) in 2017.
