GORHAM, Maine – Nine members of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' Wrestling team have been named to the 2023 New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) All-Academic Team.
Among the nine NEWA All-Academic Team recipients are newly crowned NCAA Division III All-Americans and National Wrestling Coaches' Association (NWCA) Scholar All-Americans graduate student
Jake Peavey (South China, Maine) and freshman
Jake Craig (Skowhegan, Maine). Sophomore
Colby Frost (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle), a 2023 NCAA Division III Northeast All-Region wrestler, also highlights the list.
Joining Peavey, Craig and Frost with the academic distinction are senior
Jeremy Sendrowski (Scarborough, Maine), junior
Henri Kuntz (Gorham, Maine), sophomore
Owen Bufagna (Newton, N.H./Central Catholic), freshmen
Herve Durocher (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton Academy),
Vinny Keeler (Rutherford, N.J.) and
Troy Moscatelli (Brookline, N.H./Hollis Brookline).
Peavey, a four-time William B. Wise Scholar Athlete, earned his undergraduate degree in Business Management last spring and is working towards his Master's degree in Leadership Studies. Craig and Moscatelli are both studying Cyber Security, while Bufagna, Durocher, Keeler and Kuntz are studying Business Management. Frost has not declared an academic concentration.
