Jonathan Wilson (East Granby, Conn.) and freshman
Zach Mooers (Winchester, N.H./Keene) each drove in three runs as the University of Southern Maine Huskies pounded out 13 hits, including four for extra bases, en route to a 17-4 win over the Colby College Mules Wednesday afternoon at Coombs Field. The game was called in the sixth due to poor weather conditions.
Wilson was 1-for-3 including a two-run triple, while Mooers was 1-for-3 with an RBI double and a pair of RBI sacrifice fly balls. Senior
Jason Komulainen (Gorham, Maine) and junior
Tom Vesosky (Colchester, Vermont) each had three hits, while sophomore
Janek Luksza (South Paris, Maine/Oxford Hills) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Senior
James Sinclair (Portland, Maine) picked up the win pitching 5.0 innings allowing two earned runs (four total) on seven hits and a pair of walks. The win marks the seventh straight for USM.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Huskies led 5-2 after two innings, highlighted by a two-run double from Luksza in the second, and outscored the Mules 12-2 over the next four innings to cruise to the 17-4 win.
- Up 5-2, USM made it 7-2 in the fourth on RBI walks issued to both Wilson and junior Arlo Pike (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle). The Huskies had three walks, and single from Komulainen in the inning.
- The Huskies blew the game open in the fifth scoring seven runs. Komulainen, Mooers, sophomore Lucas Francis (Libson, Maine) and Vesosky each had an RBI in the inning led by Francis' RBI triple.
- Colby took two back in the home half of the fifth on a pair of unearned runs on a fielding error, but the Huskies ended the inning with a successful pick off at first base from Sinclair to get the third out.
- In the sixth, Komulainen led off with a single, and Pike followed with a walk before moving up a base on a passed ball before Wilson knocked them in with a triple to the gap in left field. The Huskies made in 17-4 when Mooers launched a sacrifice fly to left to drive in Wilson for the last run of the game.

Southern Maine is scheduled to host Babson College on Thursday (3:30 pm) in a non-conference game. The Huskies are at home against No. 2/7 Eastern Connecticut State Warriors on Saturday (12:00 pm) in a Little East Conference doubleheader.
