Madison Chagnon (St. Albans, VT/Rice Memorial) was named Rookie of the Week and goaltender
Haley McKim (Moncton, NB/The Mount Academy) was named to the honor roll as the New England Hockey Conference released its week ten awards on Monday.
In the Huskies' 5-4 win over Worcester State, Chagnon scored four goals, including two power play goals and one game-winner. With the four goals, Chagnon became just the fifth player to score four or more goals in a game in USM Women's Ice Hockey History. Chagnon has seven points on the season with five goals and two assists in 15 games.
McKim led the Huskies to two victories this week in the cage. In a 5-4 win over Worcester State, McKim made 18 saves. In a loss against nationally-ranked Elmira, McKim made 46 saves for a .920 save percentage. She also stopped a penalty shot in the loss against Elmira. McKim ended the week with a clean sheet against NEHC opponent William Smith, making 37 saves in the win. McKim is 7-7 on the season with a 2.08 goals against average and a .937 save percentage.
The Huskies are back in action on Tuesday, January 18, as they are slated to host the University of New England in a non-conference tilt scheduled for 6pm.
