GORHAM, Maine – Four-time NCAA Division III National Champion Jamie Ruginski '25 has been selected for induction into the Little East Conference Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026. The most decorated student-athlete in the history of the storied University of Southern Maine men's track & field program, Ruginski, earned eight All-American citations in the long jump and triple jump during his career. He is the first member of the USM men's track & field program to earn induction into the LEC Hall of Fame.
The Little East Conference is inducting nine individuals and one team as part of its 2026 Hall of Fame class. Members are nominated by their alma maters and voted upon by the league's nine Athletic Directors, and includes individuals representing each Little East institution. Ruginski is joined by former USM women's volleyball standout Jess Williamson '18 for the year's induction. Additionally, the Huskies' 1997-1998 women's basketball team will be inducted. The University of Southern Maine Department of Athletics will honor Reginski at the USM Alumni Open on December 12 in the Costello Sports Complex.
Ruginski made his first trip to nationals during the 2012-13 indoor season where he placed ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 14.85m. He won his first national championship in the indoor triple jump in 2014 with a mark of 15.28m while also placing third in the long jump 7.19m to earn All-American honors in both events. Ruginski also ran on a 4x400 team that placed 11th with a time of 3:17.95 that still ranks sixth in program history. He then won the triple jump title again at the outdoor national championships with a mark of 15.13m while placing second in the long jump with a mark of 7.32m.
As a senior, Ruginski won his third consecutive triple jump title with a mark of 14.94m at 2015 NCAA Indoor Championships and earned another All-American citation in the long jump by placing second at 7.16m. Ruginski ended his career with another national title, this time in the long jump thanks to a personal-best mark of 7.47m. He also placed second in the triple jump to earn the eighth All-American honor of his career.
Over the course of his career, Ruginski was named the Little East Conference Field Athlete of the Year three times, including a sweep of the indoor and outdoor awards in 2014, and helped lead the Huskies to the 2015 LEC indoor and outdoor team titles. He finished his career as an 11-time Little East Conference champion, six-time New England champion and two-time ECAC champion. He was twice named the USTFCCCA Men's Division III Field Athlete of the Year and was named the USTFCCCA Men's Outstanding Field Performer of the Year at the 2015 Division III Outdoor Championships.
Ruginski remains the program's indoor and outdoor record holder in the long jump (indoor: 7.31m, outdoor: 7.47m) and triple jump (indoor: 7.31m, outdoor: 15.61m), and is still the LEC Championship record holder in the indoor (14.99m) and outdoor (15.37m) triple jump.
Ruginski earned his bachelor's degree in Business Management from Southern Maine in 2025 and was inducted into USM's Husky Hall of Fame that same year.
