GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's volleyball team has been honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with a Team Academic Award. The Huskies join a list of 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams who maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale) for the 2025-26 school year.
 
The Huskies placed three student-athletes on the Little East Conference Fall 2025 All-Academic Team in junior Amelia Beatty (Rochester, N.H./Spaulding), sophomore Casey Murillo (League City, Texas/Clear Falls) and junior Chloe Whittaker (Biddeford, Maine). Beatty and junior Kylee Eubanks-Hemme (Rosamond, Cali.) also earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors for the 2025 season.
 
Southern Maine finished the 2025 season with a record of 8-23; the team's most wins since 2021.
