GORHAM, Maine – Graduate student Katelyn D'Appolonia (Yarmouth, Maine) of the University of Southern Maine women's lacrosse team has earned Second Team All-Pilgrim Region by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for the second consecutive season. The 2026 Little East Conference Midfielder of the Year and a First Team All-LEC honoree, D'Appolonia is the first player in program history to earn All-Region honors multiple times.
 
D'Appolonia had an historic season as she set a new program record for assists in a season with 35 and matched the program record for points with 94. Her 57 goals, 56 ground balls and 104 draw controls led the team. D'Appolonia had at least one goal in all 19 games this season and had multiple points in 18 of the 19 contests. She had three or more goals on 10 occasions, including six-goal games against Plymouth State, Rhode Island College and UMass Dartmouth. A two-year team captain, D'Appolonia has recorded 115 goals, 52 assists, 167 points, 186 draw controls, 99 ground balls and 56 caused turnovers in 33 career games. She ranks third in program history in career draw controls, fifth in assists and 10th in both goals and points.
 
Southern Maine has now had an all-region honoree in each of the past three seasons and six total selections in program history. Goalie Cece Racine was a second team pick in 2024, and midfielders Aliza Jordan (2019), Jacki Kelly (2013) and Jessica Knight (2010) earned the honor previously.
