PLYMOUTH, NH – Seniors
Christian Burke (York, Maine) and
Michael Cyr (Caribou, Maine) and freshman
Ryker Paradis (Lewiston, Maine) each won an individual conference title to help the University of Southern Maine men's track & field program to a third-place finish at the 2026 Little East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Plymouth State. Southern Maine recorded 94 points in the team standings.
Paradise set a new program record in the shot put with a throw of 16.69m that is tied for 18th nationally. Burke took first place in the pole vault with a mark of 4.45m. Cyr won the conference title in the 3000m with a time of 8:57.58.
Cyr also reached the podium in the 5000 meters as the runner up with a personal-best time of 15:29.00. Freshman
Dylan Courtney (Hampden, Maine/Hampden Academy) and the 4x800 team of junior
Cyrus Evans (Farmington, Maine/Mt. Blue), junior
Aidan Pecoraro (Westbrook, Maine), freshman
Conner Smith (Durham, Maine/Freeport) and freshman
Harry Dunne (Hollis Center, Maine/Bonny Eagle) joined Cyr as Huskies with second-place finishes. Courtney placed second in the pole vault at 4.45m. The 4x800 relay team ran a season-best time of 8:13.64.
Track Event Highlights:
- Smith finished fourth in the mile with a personal-best time of 4:29.12.
- Sophomore Marcus Tillery (Windham, Maine) placed fifth in the 60-meter dash after running a personal-best time 7.08 seconds in the finals. He also placed seventh in the 200 meters with a time of
- Freshman Kody McCranie (Bow, N.H.) finished fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 22.99 seconds.
- Pecoraro placed seventh in the 800 meters with a season-best time of 2:01.57.
- Freshman Harry Dunne (Hollis Center, Maine/Bonny Eagle) finished eighth in the 800 meters with a personal-best time of 2:02.49.
- Burke placed eighth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.05 seconds in the finals. Burke's prelim time of 8.93 seconds is a personal-best.
- Senior Pashalis Pashalidis (Palo Alto, Cali) placed 11th in the 400m with a time of 53.15 seconds.
Field Event Highlights:
- Senior Jon Dalessandro (Westbrook, Maine) and freshman Camden Brown (Veazie, Maine/Orono) tied for sixth in the pole vault with marks of 4.00m.
- Sophomore Tim Bowler (Danvers, Mass.) placed fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 15.50m.
- Freshman Tyler Bryant (South Portland, Maine) placed seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.82m.
- Sophomore Trevor Amos (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) placed eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 14.94m. He also placed 13th in the shot put with a throw of 12.75m.
Up Next:
The Huskies will send a group of athletes to the Division III New England Championships next weekend. The event starts with the two-day heptathlon on Friday, February 27 and Saturday February 28 at Tufts University. The remaining events will be held on Sunday, March 1 at the TRACK At New Balance in Boston.
