How It Happened:
- Donovan tapped in a shot by Brennan off the boards to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead 5:18 into the contest. The Pilgrims would answer less than two minutes later with a goal by Dylan Duckson. New England College then took the lead with a goal by Jaeseok Lee with less than eight minutes remaining in the period.
- The Huskies ended the first period on the power play due to a too many players on the ice call against the Pilgrims and carried the advantage into the second period. Aucoin took three shots in the first minute of the new period. His first struck the post, his second was blocked by a Pilgrims' defender and then his third blast finally found its way into the net. The Huskies went ahead 38 seconds later by junior Ethan Hoover (Hershey, Penn.) found Arend in front of the net for a goal. Freshman Jordan Bezio (North Hampton, N.H.) also had an assist.
- Brennan added an insurance goal with 8:30 to go in the third period after junior Ethan MacDuff (Lloydminster, Alberta) won the faceoff and sophomore Gavin Simopoulos (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) sent a pass back to the point. The Pilgrims added a power play goal from Egor Osipik to make the score 4-3 with 6:39 to go.
- Morin held strong and finished the period with five saves over the final six minutes to give the Huskies the win.
