GORHAM, Maine  –  Earning her third weekly honor, senior Jaycie Christopher (Skowhegan, Maine) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's basketball team has been named the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (MWBCA) Player of the Week. Recently named the Little East Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season (Dec. 7, Jan. 5, Jan. 26), and the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Player of the Week for the second time (Dec. 8, Jan. 27), Christopher is earning weekly honors from the MWBCA for the second time.

Averaging a double-double in three road victories during the week, Christopher helped the Huskies improve their overall record to 17-1 while remaining undefeated in the Little East Conference (LEC) at 9-0 and running their win-streak to 14 games.  Christopher averaged 19.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.3 steals per game with a 2.4 assist-to-turnover ratio, while shooting 64.0 percent from the field and 60 percent from three-point range.

Through 19 games this season, Christopher is averaging a team-leading 19.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game while shooting 57.9 percent (124-for-214) from the field and 49.4 percent (40-for-81) from three-point range. The Huskies' guard has a team and Little East Conference leading eight double-doubles this season.

Ranked No. 25 in the latest WBCA Division III National Poll, the Huskies (18-1, 10-0 Little East) are at home against Keene State College on Saturday, January 31 (1:00 pm) in the second annual NAMI Maine/Wade Millett Memorial Foundation Games.
