GORHAM, Maine – After recording three assists in last night's 6-5 overtime win over Keene State, junior
Kayde Kinaschuk (Calgary, Alberta) scored all three goals for the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's ice hockey team in a 3-0 win over the Western Connecticut State University Wolves on Saturday afternoon. Freshman goalie
Ean Badgett (Howell, Mich.) made a career high 35 saves to earn his first career shutout.
Sophomore
Gavin Simopoulos (Cape Elizabeth, Maine), who had a hat trick last night, assisted on Kinaschuk's first two goals, as did junior
Adrian Jubran (Knoxville, Tenn./James Madison). This is the first time in Jubran's career that he has recorded multiple points in a game.
Kinaschuk and Simopoulos are the first duo of Huskies to have hat tricks in back-to-back games since Matt King and John St. Pierre during the 1994-95 season. King scored three goals in an 8-5 win over Curry on February 22, and St. Pierre had a hat trick in the team's next game on February 25, a 7-2 win over Nichols.
Freshman
Ben Aucoin (Moncton, New Brunswick) also had an assist on Kinaschuk's empty-net goal to complete the hat trick.
