LEWISTON, Maine – Senior
Christian Burke (York, Maine) and freshman
Dylan Courtney (Hampden, Maine/Hampden Academy) each claimed an event title on Saturday at the Bates Invitational / Multi. Burke took first in the heptathlon with a personal-best score of 4656 points. Courtney won the pole vault by clearing 4.30m. The Huskies placed second in the team standings with 137 points. Bates won the event with 270.5 points.

Burke placed first in four of the seven events. He placed first in the pole vault (4.25m), high jump (1.89m), long jump (6.27m) and the 60-meter dash 7.32 seconds. He also finished second in the shot put with a toss of 11.07m.

Track Event Highlights:
- Sophomore Marcus Tillery (Windham, Maine) placed second in the 60-meter dash with a personal-best time of 7.10 seconds in the finals. He now ranks fifth in program history in the event.
- Senior Maddox Cahill (Sunapee, N.H.) placed second in the 600 meters with a personal-best time of 1:22.31 and now ranks sixth in program history.
- Senior Michael Cyr (Caribou, Maine) placed second in the 5000 meters at 15:43.43.
- Freshman Camden Brown (Veazie, Maine/Orono) finished second in the 400 meters with a time of 54.03 second.
- The Huskies' 4x400 relay team of junior Cyrus Evans (Farmington, Maine/Mt. Blue), junior Aidan Pecoraro (Westbrook, Maine), sophomore Preston Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) and freshman Harry Dunne (Hollis Center, Maine/Bonny Eagle) placed second with a time of 3:41.13.
- The distance medley team of freshman Gavin Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester), Brown, freshman Conner Smith (Durham, Maine/Freeport) and Cyr placed third with a time of 11:15.94.
- The USM trio of Smith, Pecoraro and Gavin Gerry placed third through fifth in the 800 meters with times of 2:04.40, 2:06.45 and 2:07.29. Gerry placed first in his heat.
- Dunne and Evans placed fourth and fifth in the 600 meters with times of 1:26.77 and 1:27.83. Dunne won his heat.
- Senior Darien Davis (Lisbon Falls, Maine) placed fifth in the 1000 meters with a time of 3:07.38.
- Sophomore Reegan Buck (Portland, Maine) placed ninth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.33 seconds. Buck also placed eighth in the 200 meters with a time of 24.11 seconds.
- Freshman Rhylen Avery (Sanford, Maine) placed seventh in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.40 seconds in the finals. He ran a personal-best time of 7.33 seconds in the prelims and won his heat.
- Sophomore Jack Tassinari (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) placed eighth in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:39.10.
- Sophomore Reegan Buck (Portland, Maine) placed eighth in the 200 meters with a time of 24.11 second and also placed ninth in the 60-meter dash time a time of 7.33 seconds.
- Senior DeAnthony Evans (Westbrook, Maine) placed ninth in the 200 meters with a time of 24.28 seconds.
- Freshman Ethan Cadorette (Biddeford, Maine) placed ninth in the 5000 meters with a time of 17:05.85.

Field Event Highlights:
- Senior Michael D'Amico (Belgrade Lakes, Maine/Messalonskee) placed third in the heptathlon with 4553 points. He had the top time in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.81 seconds and ranked second in the pole vault (4.15m) and high jump (1.86m).
- Freshman Tyler Bryant (South Portland, Maine) placed third in the high jump with a mark of 1.82m
- Senior Jon Dalessandro (Westbrook, Maine) placed second in the pole vault with a personal-best mark of 4.15m followed by Brown in third at 4.00m.
- Sophomore Tim Bowler (Danvers, Mass.) placed third in the weight throw with a mark of 14.63m and finished ninth the shot put at 10.55m.
- Sophomore Trevor Amos (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) placed sixth in the weight throw with a throw of 13.26m and seventh in the shot put with a throw of 11.81m.

The Huskies are off next weekend and will return to action on Saturday, January 31 with some athletes competing at the Boston University Terrier Classic and the bulk of the lineup staying in Gorham for the Husky Invitational.
