Cole Ouellette (Lewiston, Maine) has become the third member of the 2024-25 Huskies to sign a professional contract after inking a deal with the Baton Rouge Zydeco of the Federal Prospects Hockey League. An assistant captain for the Huskies during the 2024-25 season, Ouellette joins fellow former USM defensemen
Jackson Legro and
Nick Nault as recent FPHL signees.
Ouellette totaled 43 points in his 94 career games with six goals and 37 assists. He had a goal and seven assists this past season and posted a career-best 13 points in 2022-23 from two goals and 11 assists. In addition to his contributions on offense, Ouellete blocked 55 shots in his career.
A Marketing major, Ouellette is a three-time New England Hockey Conference All-Academic Team member and earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors in 2023. He is also a four-time William B. Wise Scholar-Athlete.
The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 15th season during 2024-25. The league consists of 14 teams across nine states.
