How It Happened: Game One – Southern Maine vs. New Paltz
- McIntosh spun a seven-inning game to lead Southern Maine against New Paltz, giving up two hits (both singles) and a pair of walks, over seven innings of outstanding work to earn the win. McIntosh struck out eight as well.
- After a scoreless first inning, the Huskies pushed two across the plate in the bottom of the second to snag a 2-0 lead over the Hawks. Freshman Gwen Christie (Barnstead, NH/Prospect Mountain) scored the first run of the game, scoring on a passed ball after drawing a one-out walk to reach safely. Junior Ella Bezanson picked up an RBI with a single to center field for the Huskies second run, scoring junior Kendall Migliorini (Salem, NH). Migliorini also had a walk in the inning.
- New Paltz had its lead-off hitter reach safely in the top of the fourth, but McIntosh bounced back to get the next three outs consecutively, including back-to-back strikeouts to end the inning.
- In the home half of the fourth, Southern Maine doubled its lead to 4-0, connecting for three hits and drawing a walk. With one out, Migliorini doubled to center to start the rally, and then scored on an RBI infield single from junior Olivia Levasseur (Amesbury, Mass.) after moving up a base on a single from McIntosh. The Huskies scored their second run of the inning on an RBI ground out from sophomore Finley Folkett (Morden, Manitoba/Morden Collegiate Institute).
- In the bottom of the sixth, Southern Maine threatened for more runs with runners on second and third, after a walk and a single from Levasseur. But the Hawks' Sydney Waldon kept it 4-0 getting one of her eight strikeouts to end the inning.
- In the top of the seventh, New Paltz took a run back. McIntosh got the first out of the inning on a ground out and a strikeout, but the Hawks stayed alive with a Husky fielding error and a passed ball on a strikeout to put runners on first and third. New Paltz used a sacrifice fly to center field from Lauren Serrao to erase the shut out, but McIntosh claimed the final out with a line out to shortstop for the 4-1 final.
Game Two - Southern Maine vs. Edgewood
- Bean Dubree hit a two-run, two-out, pinch-hit singles in the bottom of the fourth inning to lead the Edgewood Eagles past Southern Maine 2-0.
- Husky freshman pitcher Mia Coots (Hartland, Maine/Nokomis) pitched another strong game, but took the loss. Coots finished the game allowing two earned runs on three hits and five walks, while striking out one in six innings of work. The Eagles collected two of their three hits in the decisive fourth inning, and drew two of their five walks.
- Southern Maine outhit the Eagles 7-3, but could not pick up a run. Bezanson and senior Meaghan Dufresene (Mattapoisett, Mass./Old Rochester Regional) each finished the game 2-for-4 at the plate, while sophomore Maddy Paradis (Salem, NH) had a pinch hit double to highlight the Huskies offensive.
