How It Happened: Game One – Southern Maine vs. Amherst
  • Amherst scored five runs in the top of the third and held on for the 6-3 win. Lauren Roe had three RBI, clearing the bases with an inside-the-park home run down the left field line doing the bulk of the damage in the third.
  • Trailing 5-0 in the bottom of three, Southern Maine snagged a run back on an RBI double to right from freshman Taylor Takatsu (West Gardiner, Maine/Gardiner Area).  However, Amherst returned to a five-run lead in the top of the fourth as Lulu Leppard tripled to the gap in left for an RBI.
  • USM added another run to its tally in the top of the fourth as junior Lexus McIntosh (Lancaster, NH/White Mountains Regional) singled through the left side to plate junior Mackenzie Renner (Alton, NH/Prospect Mountain). Renner reached safely with a single earlier in the inning.
  • The Huskies made it 6-3 as Takatsu doubled again and then came around to score on a wild pitch.
  • After a scoreless sixth from both sides, and a scoreless top of the seventh for the Mammoths, Southern Maine went down in order to end the game.

Game Two -  Southern Maine vs. Augsburg
  • Locked in a pitcher's dual as freshman Mia Coots (Newport, Maine/Nokomis) put together a solid showing in her second intercollegiate contest, the Huskies trailed Augsburg 1-0 after four and a half innings. Coots pitched 4.2 innings allowing four earned runs on five hits and a pair of walks, while striking out five. Coots
  • Augusburg broke through for three runs in the bottom of the fifth to slip away from the Huskies as Olivia Hennager and Morgann Paaske each had RBI doubles for a 4-0 lead.
  • The Huskies had chances to score in the contest, stranding a runner on third in the top o fth second, and leaving a pair of runners on in the top of the fifth, but were unable to plate a run against Augsburg starter Zoe Adkins who earned the win scattering five hits and two walks over seven innings while striking out three.
  • Husky freshman Gwen Christie (Barnstead, NH/Prospect Mountain)  and sophomore Finley Folkett (Morden, Manitoba/Morden Collegiate Institute) each had two hits for Southern Maine.
