How It Happened: Game One – Southern Maine vs. Middlebury
- Middlebury scored five runs in the top of the fifth en route to a 12-7 win over the Huskies. The Panthers collected nine hits off Southern Maine pitchers, including a pair of home runs from Olivia Scholes and Jennifer Westphal.
- The Panthers led early scoring a pair of unearned runs in the top of the first taking advantage of a pair of infield errors from Southern Maine. However, the Huskies bounced back with four runs to lead 4-2. Junior Mackenzie Renner (Alton, NH/Prospect Mountain) had an RBI single, while senior Meaghan Dufresne (Matapoisett, Mass./Old Rochester Regional) had an RBI double.
- Scholes tied the game up at 4-4. In the top of the third with a two-run homerun to center, scoring Kristyn Carroll who led off the inning with a double. The Panthers tacked on another run in the top of the fourth. Wong reached safely with a one-out single to left, and came around to score after a single up the middle from Carroll, and a tag up play on an infield fly.
- The Panthers broke the game open with five runs in the top of the fifth. Taking advantage of a Husky error and five walks in the inning. Nicole Schroeder had an RBI single as one of two Panther hits.
- The Huskies countered with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to make it a three-run game, 10-7. Freshman Taylor Takatsu (West Gardiner, Maine/Gardiner Area) led of the inning with her first career double, and came around to score on a passed ball with two outs. Juniors Olivia Levasseur (Amesbury, Mass.) and Alana Deslisle (Amesbury, Mass.) each had RBI singles in the inning.
- With its lead cut to three, Middlebury put further distance between themselves and the Huskies in the top of the sixth. After a lead off single, USM recorded the first out of the inning before Westphal made it 12-7 with a two-run shot over left field.
- USM went down in order in the bottom of the sixth, and had runners on first and second with no outs in the bottom of the seventh, but Middlebury's Abby Jankowski got the final three outs to end the game.
- Middlebury's Emily Ye earned the win in relief entering in the second and pitching four innings allowing three runs with five strikeouts. Husky starter Lexus McIntosh absorbed the loss allowing three earned runs (5 total) on five hits, and two walks.
Game Two - Southern Maine vs. Nazareth
- Dufresne had Southern Maine up early in the top of the first with an RBI single, but Nazareth came back to tie the game up in the bottom of the second. Knapp led off with a walk, stole second and then moved into third on a wild pitch before cross home plate on a well-played sacrifice bunt RBI from Sarah Ferruzza.
- Nazareth made it 3-1 in the bottom of the third scoring twice on an RBI sacrifice fly from Morgan Russo and a solo home run from Kaijah Alexander.
- The Huskies had runners in scoring position in the top of the fourth, fifth and sixth inning. Junior Kristina Yebba (Danvers, Mass.) led off the fifth with a single and move to third on a pair of wild pitches with one out, but a hard-hit line drive from Takatsu was snagged for an inning ending double-play.
- Still 3-1 headed to the bottom of the sixth, Nazareth added an insurance run. Ferruzza had a two-out double to right, and her pinch runner came around to score after advancing to third on a wild pitch, and then crossing home plate on a stolen base play.
- In the top of the seventh, Levasseur singled with one out, and a walk from Delisle gave the Huskies two runners on with one out. After a fly out to center, the Huskies comeback was thwarted following a fielder's choice ground out.
